The Difference

Regarding the Democratic primary race:

Hillary is a very bright, hard working candidate. It seems she's gotten her ticket punched. Her husband Bill did a great job during his watch. Yet, there's an air about her that she feels she deserves the office because of who she is and who she's connected to.

Barack Obama however is quite plainly and simply: Gifted. He can inspire the nation, and he will.

That's why this lifelong democrat is voting for Barack Obama. I urge you to get involved in any way you can, whether you put a sign in your yard, a bumper sticker, a button or send money or even volunteer at a phone bank to rally the troops.

The future of our country is at stake. Will it be business as usual or can we achieve what this country is truly capable of and has risen to on occasions past? The future of this country is in your hands.

LATINOS NEED TO WORK FOR OBAMA

Obama is the candidate who can do the most for Latinos in this election. Let's face it: what did Bill Clinton do for our community during his presidency? Yes, I will be the first to admit that the Clinton years were great. I would love to have that peace and prosperity again. But that was the '90s and we are in dire straits.

We have to elect a Democrat. We have to win that battle in the long run but let's get behind Barack. He's done great work in Chicago and he won election as Senator from Illinois. This shows his electability by the mainstream. Illinois is a great indicator for the whole country with it's big city politics and it's strong farming community.

I'm not advocating tribalism. I'm not saying that we should vote for Barack because he's a person of color. It's just really alarming that so many Latino politicos are backing la Hillary. The reason they are backing Mrs. Clinton is simple: political favors and deals with a well established insider.

For our community, for our country -- Latinos need to do what we can to elect Barack Obama!

What's up with Hillary?

The reason the Clintons are going after Barack Obama because they know that he is the one to beat in this campaign. However, I must ask, why all the dirty fighting from Hillary? This partisanship is what is tearing this country apart.

IT'S OBAMA TIME!

Bill Richardson has decided to leave the primary race. Best wishes to Governor Richardson. He brought a lot to the campaign but he had trouble breaking into double digits in the polls. He also had trouble garnering the delegate votes and with the voters.

To his credit he hasn't asked his supporters to pledge to another candidate because he doesn't believe one candidate doesn't lend that much credence to another candidate. The Richardson supporters are free to select their new choice for the Democratic candidate.

Today I am making the case for the junior senator from Illinois, Barack Obama. I know that in previous posts I made the case against senators getting to the highest office in the land but I've changed my mind after watching and listening to this highly charismatic candidate. He brings back images of JFK, the last senator to ascend to the oval office.

As a country I believe that the United States is a "super country" comprised of 50 states. I would also like to believe that we have progressed to the point that we can look beyond tribalism and partisanism to elect the person that can unite us and lead us into a new era of peace and greater prosperity. As Obama himself has said, "...we are not red states or blue state - we are the United States!"

I urge you to take a closer look at this leader. He's the candidate that will be president for ALL the people.

PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 2008

I have a theory that only Governors, Vice-Presidents or Generals are elected president. If we look back over the last 125 years or so the only two to be elected President of the US without meeting that criteria was JFK who was Senator of Massachusetts and now we have Barack Obama Senator from Illinois!
